Good for you lor...trying to show off how great you are isit...I know you are not going to publish this comment anyway, but just to let you know, a blog is not for show-off...not everyone is as well-off as you...have you ever ever tried to put yourself in their shoes? Have you tried to understand how other worse off people feel? Have you? I seriously don't think you have...you are just one of those lucky lot to have been born into a well-off family and have smart brains...Have you thought of those people who don't even have enough to eat? Those who want to get into varsity but cant? Those who want a job but are deprived of the chance? Have you thought of them??

Yes, it's YOUR blog, YOUR freedom to post whatever YOU want, but what I am asking for, is just to spare some thoughts for those people who are worse off than you...Not your friends though...since birds of a feather flock together...so if you put yourself into your friends' shoes, it's not going to help...Just try to open your eyes...

It's just that most people these days get together for companionship rather than love. Actually, historically, that's what people do as well. Just that in the modern context, individuals are just more able to be less dependent on their spouses; more money, more social networks, more community support. That's why marriages break down.

With regards to the aspect of 'god' in a relationship, I am of opinion that he is a double edged sword. It is difficult enough to find someone who love you as much as you love him/her (so as to be on an equal dyadic footing), let alone finding another person who loves god as much as you do.

He may be the focal point in a relationship, but his expectations of couplehood can create undue stresses. To quote Princess Diana in a outta of context manner, 'there were three of us in the relationship, so it was always a little crowded'.

In my opinion, the solution is to find a significant other that you can grow in capacity with, looking for potential rather than present attributes; and never to let loneliness or social pressure make you succumb to settling.

Of course, an alternative is to assuage loneliness by being frivolous about relationships, but do enter such contracts with the mental preparation of being hurt.
