thankful :)

i woke up at 5am again today.
but it wasn't an irritated type of waking up.
maybe cos for the 3 days, i actually managed to sneak a nap mid day.. so im happY :)

when 2007 ended, honestly, i thought life couldnt get any better
but these last almost 4 months have really been quite a blast!

of cos its been challenging
i have never worked so hard in school. ever.
not even in college, cos it was impossible to have 80+ contact hrs in one week ;P

but really thank God for new perspectives,
for being able to be thankful,
for being able to smile in difficult times
for being able to see people above business/situations
for being able to get a glimpse of loving without expecting return

and more imptly, to be able to love myself as God's creation
i have struggled with this all my life
not tt it's perfect now.. but i really am thankful for just who i am
and comfortable being just me.
i have my shortcomings, but i like to deal with them and do the best i can.

and also, to be able to love the now
im a very fwd looking person
so all my life, i worry forward
and cannot enjoy the now...

but for now, really, there's no better time than now
because it's only pocket of time i can influence :)

PS: alvin bro... looking forward to mambo on wED :P

pretty insane weekend

the last week has been extremely fulfilling

tues - met shuling and litong together after so many yrs!!

very nice.. my angel-mortal and adopted angel.. hah =) bestest seniors i had in jc.

wed after adult's meeting - managed to haf supper just 3 of us gals. was good fellowship :)

caught this cat outside nydc. its so cute and round i wunder if they fit it every night :P

then had a weekend jammed packed of activities..

fri - following a very high strung day at work that had the whole mdo b*tching, met dear cuiwen to celebrate her birthday. time flies ya.. quarter-century already =) god willing, may we have man more yrs together!

and thanks for the cupcake!! very nice *yummy*

also caught golden compass. not as athetist as i expected! even tho nicole kidman was pretty useless in the show.. the 13 yr old gal was good tho. must be tough on such a young gal to be away from home for so long to film!

i have been doing a lot of thinking these few days

it was difficult to see how far i have drifted from the narrow path until i came back.

ok i wasnt like backsliding; i was lukewarm. which is not good anywayz.

tasting the sweetness of God that nothing else can bring :)

its quite hard to explain whats like.

ly and i prayed on the fone yesterday. havent done that in a longggggggggg time

the right perspective; thats why we need bros and sis to walk together

seeing what the bigger world is like out there has made me a little...

its made me understand what my life might be like without God

what are the moral standards? what is good/bad? what is the yardstick?

i wud like to be more concerned about income inequality.

but i lack the love...

i used to pray for the lost/mission work/the poor but haiz

after seeing the poor in india, vs how we r spending as a developed country (including myself lusting after branded expensive stuff), i really think i cud be more charitable.

but yet, its such a struggle to part with money and time..

anyway, im a bit slow when it comes to nightlife.

i know pple probably sick of clubbing/nightlife by the time they reach my age because they did so much of that in school.

for me, besides ubc days, i hardly ever got to go out last time.

my curfew was like 11pm so not much point going out last time. hah

anyway i used to be like my mum - a little judgmental bout people to club and drink a lot.

but to be honest, i enjoy clubbing a lot. i love grooving to the music

drinking wise, not much.. anyway i dun like using alcohol to get drunk cos then totally lose self control which is not good!!

everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial

been reading this book on spiritual discipline.

its true that we can spend so many hours working out for a toned body, but can have such flabby souls.

so in tandem with trying to be physically healthier, i shall start flexing some spiritual muscle to get them pumped up.

as a start, it must begin in the mind :)

im back from my virgin trip to a gay club.
im so awake, and i survived.
of cos i did because i wasnt the gender endangered!! :P

very interesting sight but i think i still might be a little afraid if i dun personally know the person because it just wasnt so comfy for me on the dance floor. i dun nuthing against the people really. i think im just not used to it bcos its more rowdy than zouk/mos.

anyway music and drinks were WAY better than last week zouk.
supper over porridge was damn funny.
dec and gang, be sure im going to remember ur pigeon joke. haha..

mid week

its mid week oredi! well technically its wed oredi :)

been busy 2 days, but fulfilling! still in an excellent mood yes..

its quite silly but i swopped cars with my dad today. bcos i lacked the confidence to drive to sengkang in my new car..eeks so lousy i noe. phobias are hard to fight :(

had nice catchup dinner w alv (sim!) 6 mths sure flew by..
